Senior Service & Test Engineer

JOB PURPOSE

This role will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, testing and support for Equipment supplied by the company. You will ensure that all service work is carried out to expected standards and timescales and that support is provided to the production and engineering teams as required. You will also be required to carry out on-site diagnostics and corrective actions You will promote the group brands externally and liaise with customers representatives on site. You will also provide support to other group companies as required.                                    

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Provide frontline product support ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Carry full equipment testing for commissioning / servicing and all repair activities.
  • Investigation of customer issues and development of solutions
  • Carrying out inspection/checks on own work as it proceeds and ensuring that the equipment performs satisfactorily and is safe before handing back to the customer
  • Produce detailed work packages including risk and method statements for all work
  • Carry out site surveys on customers equipment for appraisal / reporting for costings purposes
  • Liaise with the Service Manager whilst working on service tasks.
  • Provided technical support for the existing product support engineers
  • Be able to work safely within in a hazardous environment and ensure equipment is left in a safe and working manner
  • Provide a point of contact for the customer, or their representative
  • Provide support and training to other departments / group companies as required
  • Comply with all Company policies, procedures and work instructions, including health and safety
  • Comply with and promote the Company’s values and behaviours
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as requested

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICIATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Electrical Engineer (ONC / HNC / BTEC Level 3 is desirable)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of low to medium voltage distribution and supply equipment with a good level of fault finding and repair knowledge.
  • Understanding and experience with electrical capital equipment.
  • Qualified to work in an electrical hazardous area
  • Ability to work independently with a good customer focus and commercial acumen
