JOB TITLE: Industrial – Business Development Manager
DEPARTMENT: Sales & Commercial
REPORTS TO: Commercial Sales Manager
LOCATION: Ideally Western England and Wales (flexible for the right candidate)
JOB PURPOSE
The Business Development Manager will take responsibility for the development of new and existing opportunities/sales in the Industrial Sectors of iDESo, promoting the Igranic and Baldwin & Francis range of products and services across Western England and Wales.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, the main responsibilities of the Business Development Manager include:
• Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs and able to respond effectively with a solution.
• Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
• Generate leads and cold call prospective customers.
• Have a solid understanding of electrical Switchgear MV Distribution and Motor Starting systems.
• Develop a good understanding of the businesses’ products or services and be able to advise others about them
• Work closely with Bid team to produce technically and commercially compliant bids to a very high quality.
• Nurture Customer relationship from initial enquiry through to delivery to stimulate repeat business.
• Discuss and direct promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department.
• Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICIATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
• Proven experience in a similar role
• Experience of Electrical design or Sales of MV switchgear into the Industrial Sectors.
• Knowledge of Water, Generation, Aggregates, Metals, Ports and Energy Sectors.
• Proficient in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office
• High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
• Self-motivated target driven person
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS, EXPEREINCE AND KNOWLEDGE
• Qualified to HNC/D Level in Electrical Engineering or similar.
• BS/MS degree in business administration or a related field.
