A week-long celebration that brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
At the iDESo Group we take pride in building lifelong careers through our apprenticeship programmes and are thrilled to celebrate our current and recently qualified apprentices.
The impact of apprenticeships on our business is integral, we really do recognise the value they bring to the business. We keep a competitive edge by investing in our people, and our commitment to developing our own engineers through apprentice schemes is a big part of this.
We have recently had four apprentices who have successfully completed their apprenticeships in the last year, and five that are currently undertaking their apprenticeships at different stages. We are looking to onboard a new cohort of apprentices in the next academic year to grow our talented team.
Baldwin and Francis
Roan Heeley has just completed his Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification – Installation Apprenticeship. Roan’s dedication and hard work have been truly inspiring, and his achievement marks a significant milestone in his career journey.
Jay Vaughan has recently completed his Level 3 electrical exams and finished college. He is now in the third year of his four-year apprenticeship with us.
Jay’s hopes for the future in the electrical industry include passing his AM2 assessment and pursuing more advanced exams to expand his knowledge and skills. His passion for continuous learning and growth is truly inspiring.
Anthony Pye Head of Operations for Baldwin and Francis said of Roan and Jay “Both apprentices have shown the willingness to support the business, not only “In House” but away from home on Service roles and at our sister company Allenwest in Scotland.
I hear nothing but good reports for both Roan and Jay
They have adapted excellently to change and have diversified their knowledge on differing engineering projects, which will put them in good stead throughout their careers.
Both have been a credit to the company, and long may it continue”.
Allenwest
Allenwest have two outstanding Apprentices, James McKay and Marcus Adhern, who are both in the second year of a four-year Electrical HNC.
We are thrilled to announce that James has been nominated for the prestigious James Mather Award for his outstanding efforts and results so far during his degree and apprenticeship. The awards will take place on Tuesday, 4th March, during Scottish Apprenticeship Week. We wish him the best of luck.
Marcus is enjoying collaborating with other engineers across the iDESo Group whilst gaining valuable insights from their expertise and working methods, he his keen to progress in the company as a skilled and knowledgeable Electrical Engineer.
Blair Stephenson, the Operations Director at Allenwest added “James and Marcus joined the business in July 2024 and slotted in with the team well, in their 1-2-1’s the development of both apprentices is shown in their college work and is demonstrated from feedback from their Line Managers and Peers, which is a credit to them both”.
Inspec Solutions
Devon Slack, Dylan Sanderson, and Michael Cunningham from Inspec Solutions successfully completed their End Point Assessment after graduating from their BEng Electrical Engineering Degree in December. This achievement follows between four and five years of dedicated study and hard work as part of their apprenticeship with Inspec Solutions.
We are also excited to share that all three are now moving into a more responsible role as Control Systems Engineers.
Adam Jarman, Operations Director for Inspec Solutions, congratulates the three apprentices: “I am really proud of Devon, Dylan, and Michael for completing their apprenticeship and promotion to Control System Engineers. Throughout their apprenticeships, they have applied themselves to the tasks put before them and have sought out new tasks independently. They take ownership, are keen to learn, and are ready to take on new challenges. Each one of them is a great asset for Inspec Solutions to have and are already a dependable and integral part of the team. They all have a bright future ahead, and I look forward to seeing how they continue to flourish.”
Inspec have three more apprentices going through the scheme currently. Tom Rickers has recently handed in his final dissertation and is almost ready for his End Point Assessment. Jack Battersby and Ben Casterton, who are in their second year of their Electrical and Electronic Engineering Apprenticeship, have both exceeded expectations and shown themselves as valuable members of the team.
We were excited to celebrate our talented apprentices during National Apprenticeship Week. Their hard work and dedication make an impact in serving our members every day, and we are so proud of everything they have accomplished
